The traditional breaking of the sake barrel

What an honour for Penang !

The very first Kanada-Ya Ramen Bar opened here at the G Hotel in Georgetown, Penang.

Fukuoka’s ultimate ramen chain, Kanada-Ya, with long queues in Japan, London, Hong Kong, Spain, Singapore and Taiwan; is now officially open which also marks the 18th outlet worldwide.

Present to officiate the opening ceremony was State Exco for Tourism and Creative Economy YB Yeoh Soon Hin along with the directors and franchise holders for Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore.

They specialise in the authentic Tonkotsu ramen, the award-winning, rich and flavourful pork bone broth is first boiled for 18-hours then added with a secret sauce lending it a slight creaminess.

With each passing hour, the broth undergoes a transformative journey, as the ingredients meld together, releasing their intricate aromas and nuanced tastes.

This patient approach ensures that every ounce of flavour is captured, resulting in a broth that is incredibly rich, deep and layered.

This secret recipe is created and refined by the founder, Mr Kazuhiro Kanada after countless hours dedicated to experimenting with various ingredients, cooking techniques, and flavour combinations.

Tuck into perfect al dente wheat noodles, specially made using a specific type of flour, enriched with an exact protein content and alkaline salts for a firm yet springy texture that is the ideal pairing with Kanada-Ya’s rich broth.
