Sunway Carnival Mall in Seberang Jaya has lined up numerous events for its shoppers to usher the Chinese New Year.
The Spring Festival celebrations are themed with “Bank of Luck”, for the shoppers to celebrate the festival with abundance of good luck and fortune in the year ahead.
In an effort to elevate the Lunar New Year celebrations with a vast array of festive offerings, exciting activities, traditional and cultural performances and scrumptious reunion meals and amazing redemptions will be taking at the Sunway Carnival Mall between January 3 and February 2 in an effort to welcome the Spring Festival.
The mall has been colourfully decorated with traditional element elements symbolising fortune, abundance of happiness and cultural items to reflect the traditional Spring Festival with red lanterns and distinctive Calabash or Bottle Gourd, which is known as “Hulu” in Chinese, as these would create a festive mood among the shoppers.
State Welfare, Caring Society and Environment Committee chairman Phee Boon Poh, who officiated the event, commended the Sunway Carnival Mall management for their effort in organising events and making the families to come together to shop at the mall.
“I take the opportunity to thank the management of the mall which practices the ‘Malaysian Malaysia’ concept to foster unity among the people,” he said.
Sunway Carnival Mall’s general manager Chai Wen Yew said buying new clothing and gifts is an important way to celebrate the New Year.

He said to emphasize the spring season, the management has decked up the main concourse of the mall decorated with a beautiful Chinese garden that has an oriental architectural pavilion, with cherry blossoms, bamboo trees and red lanterns to lift the festive mood while in the mall.
As part of the corporate social responsibility the Sunway Carnival Mall teamed up with the Sunway Hotel Seberang Jaya for their yearly charity event will visit Rumah Sejahtera at Permatang Tinggi to cheer up the festive mood to the inmates at the charity home on Feb 4.
