Sushi Bar staff members

Although the writer is not a big fan of Japanese cuisine, I was pleasantly surprised with the menu put out at the Sushi Bar located on the Genting Cruise Lines’ Star Pisces.

It was the Langkawi Escape media familiarization trip with new stringent standard operating procedures (SOP) for the cruise industry in place.

Coming back to the topic at hand, it is highly recommended that Japanese food lovers should not miss the Sushi Bar located on the 7th level on Star Pisces cruise ship.

The popular dinner menu is surely the crowd pleaser. The meal starts with Sashimi Moriawase (freshly sliced assorted Sashimi) followed by the Sake Kawa Irodori Salada (Rainbow salad with Salmon skin). Those who want the fish to be cooked can request accordingly.

Next, surprisingly, the Ikura Chawan Mushi (Japanese Traditional steamed egg with Salmon egg roe on top) also went down well too.

The highlight of the meal is surely the Gindara Shichimi Yaki (grilled Cod fish with Japanese Shichimi spices and chef’s special sauce) which comes with Gohan (rice) and Japanese pickles Tsukemono (Japanese pickles) and Nameko Miso Shiru (Traditional Japanese Bean Paste Soup with Nameko Mushroom). The cod fish is perfectly grilled with sweet sauce and goes well with the rice and condiments.

Finally, one gets the dessert consisting of Banana Tempura, deep fried banana tempura with vanilla ice cream.

Surely,  my favorite was the grilled cod fish which simply melts in your mouth. Compliments to the chef.

Added to this was the staff on hand who were very helpful and courteous to make you feel comfortable and well settled in.

What more one asks for when on a well deserved holiday.

The staff members come from all parts of Asia, namely, Nepal, Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore and China.
