Spectrum of the Seas near SPCT as the sun rises

The Spectrum of the Seas arrived at the Swettenham Pier Cruise Terminal (SPCT) this morning at around 7.25am under the glorious rays of the morning sunrise.

It carries some 3,239 passengers along with 1,577 crew members.

The cruise ship is owned by Royal Caribbean Cruises (RCL) and marks the first ship to dock at SPCT since the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown.

There was even a double rainbow over the skies of Georgetown in conjunction with the arrival.

Meanwhile, the vicinity of the SPCT is expected to be a hive of activity as the passengers will disembark to visit Georgetown and its surrounding areas.

Among those who stand to benefit are tour and travel agents, e-hailing providers, trishaw riders, cafes, restaurants and other tourist destinations.

The revival of the cruise industry will surely help the overall economy of the state.
