The seven properties under the Shangri-La Group in Malaysia are the three properties in Penang, namely Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa, Golden Sands Resort, Jen Hotel Georgetown.

Others are the Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur, Traders Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Shangri-La Rasa Ria, Kota Kinabalu and Shangri-La Tanjung Aru, Kota Kinabalu. The PA coverage is effective Sept 22, 2021.

“We applaud the Shangri-La Group for their forward thinking PA coverage which will surely put guests in a state of confidence who are on holiday and peace of mind.

“This pioneering move is definitely a good move to complement the gradual recovery of Penang’s tourism industry,” said Yeoh in his speech.

Yeoh also expressed confidence that Penang will achieve the 90% vaccination rate by mid Oct which will in turn help open up interstate travel.

“We are ready and prepared with strict SOPs in all of the tourism sectors in the state to welcome visitors,” he added.
