Shama Sukhumvit Bangkok is led by its general manager Ms Pauline Chua who comes with many years of experience in the hospitality industry.

This in itself is outstanding, as a Malaysian who is leading the hotel team in the Thai capital. What more, she is in charge of two more properties, namely Emmaline Hotel Nan and the Shama Ekamai Bangkok.

She is assisted by senior sales manager, Ms Kanjana Hongkum or fondly known as KJ among friends.

The duo can be seen busy attending to travellers and long stay guests to ensure their comforts and well-being.

“We are popular with the guests from the Middle East as they prefer Bangkok for medical tourism. Even during the pandemic, we had guests who came here for medical tourism purposes,” said Pauline to Penang Hyperlocal.

She has been in the hotel industry for the past 28 years and this is her third stint returning to Bangkok for work.

Getting to meet people from all parts of the world, Pauline can also be dubbed the “mini ambassador of Penang in Bangkok” as also never fails to promote her hometown among these travellers. Upon her advice, many have of them have travelled to the Pearl of the Orient to extend their holidays in this part of the world.
