A grand sum of RMRM 1,388,888.00 was raised for SJKC Chung Hwa 2, Butterworth recently.

The noble effort was carried out by Heineken Malaysia Berhad once again hosted its annual social impact program, the Tiger Chinese Education Charity Concert (Tiger CECC).

As a platform to bring communities together, the concert enabled parents, alumni, and local communities in Butterworth, Penang to play a role in improving the school’s safety, teaching, and learning environment.

The amount raised will be used for the construction of a new four-story multi-purpose block consisting of administrative offices and staff rooms as well as a new canteen.

Since its inception in 1994, Tiger Beer has worked hand-in-hand with its media partner to contribute and make a difference in the education of many generations. The annual project has cumulatively raised more than RM370 million for schools across Malaysia.

This year, SJKC Chung Hwa 2, Butterworth is one of the eight schools that will be hosting the Tiger Sin Chew CECC. The school is in need of renovation and
repair works especially in their canteen area due to severe ground heaving issues which have caused structural hazards.
