Launching ceremony at Prangin Mall

The biggest Ramadan Bazaar in Georgetown is at Prangin Mall this year with over 80 outlets offering a wide range of local and international food and cuisine, clothing and other outlets.

The bazaar is back after two years due to the MCO restrictions.

This time around they are supported by the office of the State Exco for Trade, Industry and Entrepreneurial Development, Dato Abdul Halim Hussian, state assemblyman for Komtar, Teh Lai Heng, Foodpanda, Maybank and Prangin Mall management.

Also present was Prangin Mall management’s Edwin Tan, Penang City Council secretary Engineer Rajendran, Prangin Mall manager Daniel Ng, 1st Avenue Penang general manager, CC Yeap among others.

Lending support were the stakeholders of Komtar Walk.

“It is good to see the Ramadan bazaar coming back after two years. This will help small traders and entrepreneurs make some business within the community.

“As we enter the endemic stage, we should still observe the standard operating procedures to take care of ourselves. The pandemic has taught us a lesson and we have to be resilient to face any challenges ahead,” said Halim in his speech.

Throughout the Ramadan season, there will be various programme like traditional performances, busking, gamelan, Borneo dance performance, workshops, origami sessions, Raya face painting, batik painting and more activities.

The VIP guests later joined hands to perform the ribbon cutting ceremony to launch the event. They also toured the different stalls and outlets to lend support.
