Responding to a request for dates from Sekolah Kebangsaan Padang Tembak, the Penang Hindu Association (PHA) helped to secure 40 kilos of dates.
They were presented to the school’s headmistress Hamidah Hamzah to be distributed to the students from the B40 group.
The school has some 342 students from all races. Broad smiles were seen on the students faces upon getting their share of the dates.
The kind contribution was also made possible by the generous donations by Wong See Chiang, Dato’ Meera Mydin and Mitta for Life under Mahindarama Buddhist Temple – Kampar Road for their selfless contribution.
In gratitude, PHA received a certificate of appreciation from the school. Present to receive the certificate was PHA president P. Murugiah and his committee members.
In a related development, PHA also distributed Hari Raya goodie hampers to four hardcore poor Muslim families each comprising of OKU and medically unfit family members.
Each of the Hari Raya goodie hampers included grocery items, milk powder, a token amount of cash as well as first-aid kit.
