It was a memorable and eventful gathering for the delegates of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA Malaysia Chapter) and Penang Exhibition and Convention Bureau who had gathered for the Tourism Reconnect, “The Next Episode Change Ready” held over three days in Penang.
After the serious business of several meeting session held at the Royale Chulan Penang, the participants were taken on a tour to Penang Hill, sight-seeing around Georgetown and a trishaw ride around the city.
Present to flag-off the trishaw riders was Penang State Exco for Tourism and Creative Economy, YB Yeoh Soon Hin.
The finale was the get-together at the Musion Mansion over a sumptuous dinner.
Participants were feted to local favourites and fine music played by local deejay Leroy.
With the impending reopening of the international borders, there is optimism and vibrancy in the air.
Seen mingling was PCEB chief executive officer Ashwin Ashwin Gunasekeran, Datuk Seri Mirza Mohammad Taiyab, former director general of Tourism Malaysia, Shahrin Mokhtar, Director Advertising & Digital TM, Tourism Malaysia Penang Shahrul Seman, deputy director Siti Hajar, Ben Ho GM of Lexis Suites Penang, Kash Kumaran GM Sunway Hotels, Gulab Rai GM Neo+, Khoo Boo Lim MAH vice president among others.
