The Penang state government will implement more mass screening centers to intensify it’s fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

Among them are at the Padang Taman Kejiranan Mccallum on Thursday July 15 , 2021. MBPP car park and complex in Jalan Rajawali, Bayan Lepas on July 16, Sekolah Kebangsaan Padang Tembak on July 17 and Dewan MPKK Sungai Dua (Batu Uban) July 18.

“The initiative is part of our efforts to intensify mass screening to combat the pandemic. Through this initiative, we can identify and isolate and treat the patients,” said state exco for Housing, Local Government and Town & Country Planning, Jagdeep Singh Deo at a press conference in Komtar today.

He also added that to-date, out of the 2,161 people tested, 35 individuals have tested positive from the mass screening exercise at the City Stadium, Kompleks Sukan Sony and at Dewan Besar Sungai Dua.

The selection of mass screening centres is based on the advice of the state health Department and local constituencies.

“We hope when the operators and vendors at the local markets are tested, members of the public can safely do their daily marketing,” he added.
