airasia Super app bagged two awards at the prestigious second edition of World Travel Tech Awards, namely the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline App and the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline Website.

Held annually, the World Travel Tech Awards, serves to recognise, reward and celebrate excellence in travel technology; and is the sister event of the World Travel Awards.

The event was held in Amman, Jordon.

Both awards are voted by industry experts and consumers from across the globe, making each award truly a world-class recognition.

This recognition for the airasia Super App’s excellence in travel tech follows another recent win, where the one stop travel super app platform was named as the Best in Future of Digital Infrastructure at IDC Future Enterprise Awards 2022.

The two recognitions in the past two months reinforces all the efforts from the airasia Super App are in the right direction, as it continues to strive towards creating better value and enhancing user experience.

Tony Fernandes, CEO of Capital A said, “We are humbled to accept yet another recognition for all the hard work we have put into our Super App and transforming an airline group into a full-fledged digital platform business. This app will be transformational for travellers as it is a whole ecosystem of preeminent travel, from duty free to ground mobility. Just like AirAsia, we will transform traveling once again in this digital age. Big thanks to the Super App team who have built this from the ground up during Covid with very little resources but with a lot of heart. Congratulations for being recognised as a tech unicorn in Malaysia, and now being one of the most successful app in Asean. Your hard work is paying off, let’s use this recognition to drive ourselves harder to give all of our users the best travel booking experience on the super app.”

Amanda Woo, CEO of airasia Super App commented, “On behalf of the entire airasia Super App team, I would like to express our gratitude to all the voters for this award. From a mere airline booking site, we have grown into so much more and is now a full-fledged one-stop travel super app which includes an OTA platform offering over 700 airlines and 700,000 hotels, as well as e-hailing, food and parcel deliveries, vacation activities, alternative land & sea transport and much more. This award is motivation for each and every Allstar to continue to give our best to ensure an enhanced user experience for all our app users, which have increased three-fold compared to the same period last year, while expanding our offerings and engagements for our users.”

Mike Sawicki, Managing Director, World Travel Tech Awards, said: “AirAsia has proven its credentials as a carrier at the forefront of travel technology, providing seamless customer journeys via both its website and app. I am delighted that the World Travel Tech Awards voters have acknowledged the brand’s efforts with double honours: World’s Best Low-Cost Airline App 2022 and World’s Best Low-Cost Airline Website 2022.”

Other parts of the larger Capital A Group, including the AirAsia Aviation Group also received the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline for the 13th consecutive year voted by the Skytrax World Airline Awards 2022, and Asia’s Leading Low Cost Airline Cabin Crew for the sixth consecutive year and Asia’s Leading Low-Cost Airline for the seventh year in a row at the World Travel Awards – Asia & Oceania edition earlier last month.
