With most of the international travel restricted and in keeping with the “new norm”, THAIFEX– ANUGA ASIA is extending their outreach efforts to encourage their Malaysian neighbours to partake in their ongoing Virtual Trade Show (VTS) segment of their Hybrid+ food and beverage (F&B) trade exhibition.

The initiative is to solidify their prestige as Asia’s leading food and beverage trade exhibition and to enrich the diversity on offer today.

Billed as the build-up leading to their main physical event, THAIFEX –ANUGA ASIA’s VTS serves as the ideal stage and platform for participants to showcase their trade expertise via specially fabricated online channels.

Their convergence will spark a wave of virtual networking, in essence translating this convergence into a pivotal market driver for the regional F&B industry segment.

One of the main objectives for this year is to trigger a larger influx of Malaysian participants.

“VTS will serve as an ideal business matching platform for our fellow Malaysian importers.

“This THAIFEX– Virtual Trade Show (VTS) 2021 is aiming to focus on being the 24-hours online platform for importers, trade partners and international entrepreneurs to meet and negotiate deals with Thai food and beverage operators participating in THAIFEX – ANUGA ASIA 2021 “The Hybrid Edition,” said Deputy Prime Minister and Commerce Minister, The Honorable, Mr. Jurin Laksanawisit.

Thai exhibitors joining the event will showcase their innovative and new products that can best respond to the lifestyle of consumers in the New Normal era while launching trade negotiation activities through Video Calls, establishing the new standards for future trade shows.

The platform will be ready for service along with special activities that will be ongoing until October 3, 2021.

Building on the success of the 2020 edition of the VTS, which witnessed 1,080 online applicants from 77 different countries plying their trades on the platform, with 752 buyers having successfully matched their credentials with target exhibitors, the 2021 Hybrid+ edition is fast living up to its billing with more than 70% of past exhibitors confirming their participation in the upcoming show.

“As of today, a total of 1,750 companies from 97 countries have registered, which is an increase of 132% and 25% respectively as compared to previous year.

“A total of 209 Thai exhibitors from 363 VTS registered companies have confirmed their participation. We are extremely confident that our Thai exporters and producers in the food and beverage industry will be able to deliver their food and beverage innovations to meet the new consumption trends, not only focusing on the taste or health benefits of food, but also sources of raw materials, production process, and food safety.

“We expect at least an increase of 10% in trade values this year. In our first Online Business Matching (OBM) during 25 – 29 May 2021, the volume of order values received exceeded USD25 Million,” added The Honorable, Mr. Jurin Laksanawisit.

The participating product categories include, coffee & tea, drinks, fine food, food services, Food Technology, Frozen Food, Meat & Poultry, Seafood,  Fruits & Vegetables, Rice and Sweets & Confectionery.
