Making new friends

It was an evening of camaraderie and also a catch catch up session when Aariana Hospitality International held its hospitality industry cocktail and networking evening at the Penang Club recently.

Hosting the event was its president and chief executive officer, Reginald T Rereira and his team.

Lending support was the chairman of the Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) Kedah/Perlis Chapter, Eugene Dass and the newly elected MAH Perak Chapter chairman Vincent Ee.

Meeting up

Several general managers from Kuala Lumpur had also driven up to Penang to attend the get-together.

The cocktail session offered the perfect setting to mingle and get to know guests and make new friends.

Also present was soon to be opened Ascott Gurney Penang’s general manager, Sharon Ang along with Ascott Country general manager, Mondi Mecja.

Representing the Ixora Hotel in Perai was its general manager,  John Macneill and its director of sales and marketing, Suzie Alias.

From The Top was their CEO Tan Sri Richard Koh and his wife, its general manager Chew Kim Choi and sales manager Hazlina Md Hanifah.

Also seen was Jimmy Chan (ex- Hompton Beach Hotel gm), Sky Residence Prai resident manager, Lee Boon Kae, Angeline Chen (DoubletTree by Hilton Penang) , Noorazudin Omar (Istana Hotel), Adrian Chua ( Furama Hotel), Mary Ann Harris (executive director Penang Centre of Medical Tourism) among others.
In his brief address, Reginald thanked those who had taken time to attend the cocktail.

“This is the first time we are having this event outside of Kuala Lumpur. Nevertheless, I take opportunity to also announce my candidacy for the post of president at MAH National level,” added Reginald.

Guests were seen enjoying the buffet set up by Penang Club while making new friends.
