Tasty crabs on the menu

In keeping with their fine tradition, the Light Hotel Penang has put out a splendid Ramadan buffet dubbed “Santapan Gempita” for guests at their ballroom.

Offering a choice of 150 variety dishes, the main highlights like their signature Kambing Golek, Soup Gearbox, Kebab, Gulai Kawah, Lamb Briyani, Lamb kurma, Special Briyani composition with ayam masak merah, Dalca Daging, Grilled fish, Shawarma, Delightful variety of ulam, kerabu, 

Additional actions stalls offer Asam Laksa, Hokkien Mi, Char Kuey Teow, Dim sum cart, Ais Kacang, and Rojak buah. There are also a variety of traditional Malay and Nyonya Kuih, ever –popular pengat durian, pengat pisang as well as other assorted pudding, cakes, agar-agar and some types of beverages   

The tantalizing spread is put out by Chef Hamizi Hamid and his team.

A preview session held yesterday evening at the hotel’s ballroom also saw some 220 underprivileged children being hosted to a dinner and presented with duit raya.

Lending presence was Penang Governor Tun Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak who personally presented the “green packets” to the children.

In his welcoming address, general manager Raj Kumar thanked guests for making time to attend the gathering.

“Other than giving back to the community as part of our corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, we also want to appreciate our corporate and media members this evening.

“We sincerely hope that you will enjoy the wonderful spread prepared by our talented team and enjoy the company and entertainment tonight,” said Raj Kumar.

Also present was their chief executive officer, Tan Sri Dato Ramesh, Dato KK Sihabutheen Kirudu Mohamed and Dato Uswath Khan Kirudu Mohamed among others.

Meanwhile they will also offer guests a designated prayer room with on-site ablution facility and an Imam to lead Muslim in their Maghrib, Isya’ and Tarawih prayers, allowing guests to comfortably perform their religious duties.

The Ramadan buffet dinner is available from March 23 to April 21, 2023 and is priced at RM138+ (adult), RM123+ (senior citizen), RM108+ (child 4-12) and RM68+ (child below 4). However, an early bird promotion is available at RM123 while vouchers last.
