Gurney Paragon Mall’s Cut for Charity CSR
Parents Day is all about the celebration of both parents’ love and their unending sacrifice for the children. Parents are the guiding light in a child’s life and lay the foundation for children to nurture and grow. They equip them with the necessary skills in life.
This year, Gurney Paragon Mall, one of the leading shopping malls in Malaysia, marks the Parents’ Day celebration by launching the Cut for Charity initiative, which will run from May to June 2022.
Partnering with the mall’s hair salons, including A-Saloon Prestige, Level 2, Blonde and Brunette, Level 3 and Hashtag Hair Studio, Level 6, this Cut for Charity drive aims to raise funds and promote awareness for those in need with each haircut. All donations collected will be channelled to the Penang Adventist Hospital (PHA) Charity Fund.
According to Hunza Group Executive Director, Ms. Khor Tze Ming, this campaign is part of the mall’s ongoing community endeavour to contribute to the social well-being of society along with the mall’s tenants.
“Parents’ Day is a time for all to gather and celebrate, but don’t forget that there are still people that need kindness, love, and support. As the restrictions are now lifted, we can do more to support and reach out to our local community. We would like to take this opportunity to invite everyone to join us in supporting our initiative and helping those in need by getting a haircut at one of the mall’s participating hair salons,” she said.
From May 1 to 31, shoppers can get a haircut at any participating hair salon in the mall and RM10 from the haircut will be donated to the Penang Adventist Hospital charity fund. That’s not all, on the special occasions of celebrating Mother’s Day (May 8) and Father’s Day (June 19), the first 10 customers can get a haircut for only RM10. Customers are encouraged to make a reservation in advance at the mall’s participating hair salons to avoid disappointment.
In addition, customers who spend any amount at participating hair salons during the months of May and June will be eligible to redeem a pack of complimentary face masks at Concierge, Level 1. Plus, shoppers can also take part in the Parents’ Day Lucky Draw contest by scanning the QR code at Concierge, Level 1 and uploading a receipt from one of the participating hair salons. The lucky winner will receive one complimentary session of Primer Wellness Health Screening worth RM730, courtesy of Penang Adventist Hospital.
