The Penang state government has taken the exemplary step to offer unlimited complimentary bus service for residents under the Pas Mutiara My30 package.
The offer will take effect from March 1, 2021 until Dec 31, 2021 and is limited to Malaysian citizens for the Rapid Penang services.
In doing so, the state government also thanked the federal government for extending the Pas Perjalanan Percuma Tanpa Had My30 to Penang under Budget 2021.
The unlimited pass is currently priced at RM30 per month.
“The Penang state government has allocated RM3 million for 10,000 pass cards. This measure will help residents to lower their daily cost of living expenses.
“The collaboration between the state government and Rapid Penang will be launched on March 1, 2021. Commuters can buy the cards from March 1 at the nearest Rapid Penang kiosks,” said Zairil Khir Johari, state exco for Infrastructure and Transport at a press conference in Komtar today.
He also added that this incentive will also encourage more residents to use public transport and save on their expenses for petrol, parking and toll.
Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd was represented by its Head of Northern Region, Ku Jamil Zakaria at the ceremony.
