Penang state exco for Housing, Town and Country Planning, Jagdeep Singh Deo presented food baskets to several charitable homes in Georgetown.
In view of the ongoing pandemic many in the community are affected in terms of employment and finding a decent living.
Among the beneficiaries were the Ramakrishna Ashrama, Cheshire Home, Persatuan Syukur Penyayang, Wisma Yatim Sekolah Kanak-Kanak Terencat Akal and Little Sisters of the Poor.
“We are glad to note that since 2018 we have allocated some RM1.16 million in my constituency for charitable projects.
“Among them include budget for festive occasions, places of worship, school sponsorship, cleaning of the neighbourhood, food baskets and more,” said Jagdeep at the presentation ceremony.
