MOU signing ceremony

In ensuring the safety and health of local and foreign holiday makers to Langkawi, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed between Malaysian Association of Hotels (Kedah/Perlis Chapter) and Maju Healthcare Sdn Bhd.

Representing MAH Kedah/Perlis was its chairman Eugene Dass while Dato Aminudin Hashim who is the Group Managing Director of Maju Holdings Sdn Bhd was on hand.

“This MOU is among the initiatives to ensure the concerns of travelers to Langkawi. Travelers still harbor fear of travel.

“Tourism is the biggest economic contributor to the economy of Langkawi. We have 30 members ranging from 1 to 5 stars here on the island.

“We see this collaboration with Maju Healthcare and its partners as helping us in assuring care systems are in place for guests staying with us,” said Dass.

Thumbs up for the MOU

Meanwhile Aminudin, said that by 2022 most people will be either vaccinated, boosted or recovered from Covid-19 and developed immunity.

“Human beings learn to adopt and adapt to the new normal and in the long term live with this. With this collaboration we are here to provide medical care and testing where needed.

“In this way, we can set the framework to get the doctors to hotels for preparedness and readiness, This will also gve MAH Kedah/Perlis members uniformity among them to isolate and confirm any cases.

“Among our future plans are to open such facilities in Skypark Subang and Kuching ,” said Aminudin. 

Maju Healthcare partners Gribbles and Global Drs in the programme. Guests were also taken on a tour of the facilities at the center.

Also present was Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH National) chief executive officer, Yap Lip Seng.

Lending support were several general managers from the Dash Resort Langkawi (Effendi Ramley), The Ritz- Carlton (Ms Ellen Franke), Reginald T Pereira (Tanjung Rhu Resort), Leslie Pereira (Holiday Villa Resort), Subramaniam (MATTA Langkawi) among others.
