Penang is a popular destination to house foreign consulates outside of Kuala Lumpur.
In the last count, it has more than 25 foreign consulates located in the state.
In a latest development, the ambassador of Czech Republic to Malaysia expressed confidence that a consulate will be set up here soon.
His Excellency Milan Hupcej disclosed this on his courtesy visit to Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow.
He also added that other than strengthening bilateral relationships, it will also help develop trade, investment and cultural cooperation.
